Meet Thomas Duffy, DDS
Dr. Duffy offers you years of experience plus his commitment to patient-centered care. He believes technology should enhance—not replace—the relationship between the dental team and the patient. By investing in a variety of advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, Dr. Duffy and his experienced team ensure each visit is as stress-free, effective, and comfortable for each patient as possible.
Our Investment in Cutting-Edge Dental Technology
1. Intraoral Scanner
Say goodbye to messy impressions! Our top-rated digital scanner captures precise 3D images of your teeth in seconds. It’s faster, more predictable (not that traditional impressions weren’t accurate!), and makes for a far more comfortable experience for our patients. Whether you need a porcelain crown, dental bridges, other restorations, or even the lowly but perfectly fit nightguard, this technology helps ensure a better fit and more predictable results.
2. Digital X-Rays
We’ve always had digital X-ray sensors, which need significantly less radiation (down to half the exposure compared to common film X-rays) and provide instant, high-resolution images. We further halve that exposure by training all of our staff to use special beam focusing devices. These digital X-rays allow Dr. Duffy to spot problems early— optimally giving you a chance to treat them at home before they become more serious—and explain them to you using on-screen visuals so that you know what we know.
3. Cone Beam CT (CBCT) Imaging
When detailed 3D imaging is needed—such as for implant planning, root canals and hidden infections, or evaluating jaw structure—our CBCT scanner gives a comprehensive view of your entire oral anatomy. This technology guides precise procedure planning, leading to improved safety, accuracy, and success rates. As importantly, its flexibility in reducing the exposure area and amount is possible for more focused exams.
4. Panoramic X-ray
Though the panoramic X-ray modality has been around for some time, it is a proportionally less common technology here in the United States, and making it digital brings all the benefits of digital X-rays described above. Our panoramic X-ray system provides a sweeping image of your teeth, jaws, sinuses, jaw joints, and surrounding bone structures for full-mouth assessments, while averaging an exposure similar to only two to four in-the-mouth X-rays With good technique, it’s particularly useful for finding asymptomatic infections, cysts, and tumors, evaluating growth and development in children or identifying impacted teeth and jaw irregularities.
Benefits Of Our Advanced Dental Technology
Choosing a dental office equipped with the latest tools offers multiple benefits:
- Greater Accuracy: 3D imaging and digital scans reduce guesswork and allow for pinpoint precision.
- Less Time in the Chair: Faster diagnostics and more efficient workflows make your visits shorter and smoother.
- Improved Comfort: No more bulky bite wings or goopy impressions—our digital methods are gentler and quicker (though the world is still waiting for a slightly smaller scanner head).
- Better Communication: Visual tools help Dr. Duffy walk you through your treatment plan and options.
- Fewer Follow-ups: Better planning means fewer adjustments, remakes, or complications.
Cool factor
We can admit that seeing 3D models of yourself and feeling even more like a member of your own care team is just fun.
Whether you’re here for a routine cleaning or a complex restoration, you’ll experience the difference our technology makes from the moment you sit in the chair.
